Alabama Women’s Commission Achieves Record Growth in Health Outreach
The Alabama Women’s Commission celebrated record success in 2024, with its 211 Know text messaging service growing by 83% to nearly 10,000 subscribers. This free service provides vital health resources and support to women across Alabama, particularly those eligible for the Well Woman Alabama Program.
Targeting women aged 15–55 in 12 counties, 211 Know saw a significant boost through social media campaigns, which generated 3,100 new sign-ups and reached over 10 million views last year.
With Alabama facing critical health challenges, including high maternal and infant mortality rates, the Commission remains committed to improving access to care and resources. Plans for 2025 include expanding 211 Know’s reach and hosting the annual Impact Luncheon in April, celebrating women leaders like Alabama Supreme Court Justice Sarah Stewart.
Stay informed and empowered; join 211 Know to receive two weekly texts offering tips and resources to support your health.
